LAUM :: About Company

Logos Aum ("Laum") became a private company in 1991 and now transform in LAUM Manufacturers Association. We manufacture and sell a wide variety of simulated leather accessories, such as women's handbags, men's briefcases, knapsacks, portfolios and similar items.

We're one of the leading and dynamically developing companies in the Eastern European leather goods and haberdashery industries. In the first part of 2001, the volume of manufactured products in Ukraine's light industry sector increased 15.9%. During that same period, our volume increased by more than 150%. What's more, we're confident we have the financial, human, information and material resources for substantial future growth.

We base our designs on carefully-monitored international trends, and we use our own design department to create original items. We've placed 200 models of women's handbags into mass production at our manufacturing facility. To meet the surging demand for our products, our production facilities now operate on three shifts. We employ sophisticated automated systems developed in Ukraine (SAPRLEGPROM) and Germany (WASTEMA). Recently, we've upgraded our accounting systems so they're now aligned with those used in Western Europe and the United States. We now employ more then 700 people.

We market our products through a network of regional distributors that act in more then 40 cities throughout Ukraine. These distributors have strong financial incentives to produce regional results and to contribute to the overall financial success of the company. Plans are also underway to open exclusive Laum shops in key Ukrainian cities.
