The plant can take in and process 80-100 tons of milk per day although production is now lower due to a shortage of raw milk. The company currently employs 55 and is looking for technology and equipment for production of dairy products with longer shelf life. Dairy product preservation and longer shelf life for these products are now very important for Ukraine. The products of the company are a curd product made with raisins, sugar and 20% sour cream (which tastes very good) and a 1% kefir which they package with whole milk in 1/2 liter plastic bags. In June 1998 a new up-to-date butter plant was in the process of being completed. It will be capable of producing 8 tons of butter per day from 180 tons of milk. The Executive Director of this company was selected to participate in the Marshall Plan Meat, Dairy and Edible Oils study tour to the USA in September 1998. |
