In GeneralThe eSP Consortium is a cooperative of skilled Kharkiv-based Ukrainian information technology (IT) companies, including Hartron, in partnership with Macfadden & Associates, Inc. (MAI) of Silver Spring, MD. We combine trained and certified software experts with state-of-the-art software and project management tools to produce customer-oriented results to international standards. Our managers in Ukraine and in the U.S. combine strong academic as well as hands-on technical backgrounds. We measure our success in terms of our clients’ satisfaction. Our workforce includes skilled software specialists from America and Eastern Europe (with strong backgrounds in programming in the former Soviet Union). This enables us to provide our customers with superior IT services at a significant cost savings. Our American partner, MAI, provides a convenient contact point for U.S. customers, assuring quality and delivery and monitoring the fulfillment of contract terms. Capabilities We work on a variety of platforms, including IBM 370 (IBM S/390, EC 9000), RISC 6000, AS/400, IBM PC, and SUN, and we are familiar with DOS, Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000, OS/400, Unix (AIX, SCO, BSD, Linux) and OS/2. We work in C/C++, Visual C++, Visual Basic, Java, Perl, SQL, Assembler, COBOL, RPG, PL/1, Fortran, Pascal/Delphi, PHP, HTML, DHTML, XML, and Javascript. We also work with most open source systems, Linnux, mySQL and PHP, as well as with large commercial databases such as Oracle and Interbase. We specialize in real-time systems development, internet/intranet applications for databased systems and banking systems. All our companies have supplied a full range of services to their clients, which range from e-commerce sites for wineries to accounting systems for banks and small- to medium-sized businesses. Distinctive Characteristics As Hartron, we provide contract management in Ukraine. Macfadden & Associates, Inc. manages contracts in the U.S. The members of the Consortium are Hartron Corp., Macfadden & Associates, Inc.(MAI), MBS, Eclipse SP, Insart, SoftPro and The KIT Group. Two member of the Consortium are member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine www.amcham.kiev.ua. Established 14 years ago, Macfadden & Associates, Inc. is an award-winning $12 million software development and project management company. MAI serves a variety of U.S. government and commercial clients including the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Peace Corps, the State Department, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). A graduate of the 8(a) program, MAI is a Small Disadvantaged Business. MAI’s Founder and President, James R. Macfadden, is 85% deaf. Hartron was established in 1959 as the leading designer of space and industrial control systems. After privatization and restructuring, Hartron now employs more than 3,000 people in two Ukrainian cities. Over the past 10 years, Hartron has concentrated on instrumentation and control systems for fossil fuel and nuclear power plants, air- and space-based systems for ecological monitoring, air traffic control, fiber optic communications and linear automatics. The company has had several joint projects in the United States (as well as in Europe) with such organizations as the International Space Station Project, Westinghouse Electric, Kosmotras JV, Fiat-Avio, DaimlerChryslerAerospace and Thiokol. As indicated in a memo from Alexander Bek to Nikolay Yakimenko dated 4-12-01, Macfadden & Associates strongly urges that Sergey Kononenko attend the Ohio meeting. Kononenko’s presence would allow direct relationship-building with U.S. prospects.
