This Joint Stock Company was established in 1987 and has 500 employees, up from 280 in 1995.  It has 1 retail outlet and 3 processing plants.

Express Agro is one to the most successful and fast growing food processing companies in Kharkiv.  The changes in this company in the past few years have been dramatic in management, marketing, and production.

The President stated that their products were aimed at all levels of the population. Consumer groups said their prices are the lowest and their packaging the most convenient. For this reason they have drawn the attention of western investors.

In the last two years they have reorganized the company and have separated the organization into: marketing, manufacturing, and construction operations.

Sales are made through their own retail outlets, but most importantly through distributors throughout Ukraine.  The firm maintains its own fleet of trucks for shipment to Kiev and other areas of Ukraine.

The company products include:

• Mayonnaise (Dressings)
• Sweet pudding and sauces
• Sausage (salami)
• Milk
  

Six different kinds of dressings are produced including: mustard, mushroom, lemon, kharvski (tomato, coriander, garlic) and turnip; and seven different kinds of sweeteners including: chocolate cream, strawberry, orange & melon, cherry, honey, and jam. The company is constantly looking into new products and packages which are not available from other Ukrainian processors.

The mayonnaise is packaged in small plastic containers that enable the consumer to purchase the right amount for their immediate needs.  This packaging has several advantages: it is light weight (an advantage where few have cars), when and if the product spoils the container expands to indicate the state of its contents, and the packaging cannot easily be duplicated.
