The Prikolotnyansk Oil Extraction Plant is a private joint stock company, established in 1907 in the town of Prikolotnyansk in the Kharkiv Oblast. It has the ability to process all types of seeds to extract the oil. It is the newest plant of its type in Ukraine and uses imported foreign equipment, including extraction equipment from East Germany. With this equipment it processes 350 tons of sunflower seeds, an equal amount of soya seeds daily. Every year it produces 45 thousand tons of sunflower oil, 38 thousand tons of sunflower feed, 200 tons of phosphate food concentrate (lycetyne).
The company has a working agreement with Cargill in which Cargill takes the oil from the plant and provides further refining. |
The plant occupies 14.3 hectares of territory. In addition to its main factory area, it has 12 smaller shops and facilities. Its goal is an ecologically clean production, with an output of high quality products fit to compete in today's markets. Towards that end they have installed a circular extractor developed by the German firm SKET, and are now refining sunflower oil by means of hydrotation. Thus they now have an opportunity to expand their production significantly and become a leader in the export of this oil in Europe. The management has worked out a business plan, held talks with domestic investors and foreign firms, and have concrete (specific) offers and proposals. The enterprise posses thousands of square meters of unoccupied land which allows them to install equipment to improve their refining process and to add improved product packing.
