Large pork processing operation

This large Joint Stock Company employs 1,250 and has been in business for 49 years. It raises 100,000 pigs and has a slaughtering and curing operation. They feel that their meat is especially good since the animals are fed without bio-stimulants.

This company has the following production resources: 6300 hectares including 5400 hectares of arable land, 100,000 hogs, 450 milk cows, 4,000 young cattle, a meat processing shop, butter making facility, a bakery, flour mill, a sawing workshop.

The company is looking for technology for meat processing, canned meat, packing and labeling.

Mr. Tovstopyat, Deputy Chairman, was selected to participate in the Marshall Plan Meat, Dairy and Edible Oils study tour to the USA in September 1998.

The company supplies the following products with their their annual production rates:

• Milk - 2,000 tons
• Pork - 8-10,000 tons
• Meat - 600 tons
• Grain - 10,000 tons
• Sugar beet - 7,000 tons
• Sunflower seeds - 500 to 700 tons
• Sausage - 20 to 25 tons
• Meat cans - 30 to 40,000 per year
