The company was established in 1933 as a state owned company. In 1996 it was reorganized into open joint stock company «Agricultural Firm «Sortsemovosch» and changed the form of ownership into a collective one.
The company has a favorable geographic location. Both production facility and a company store are located in the city center.
Sortsemovosch's main type of activity is the production, packing into small packages and selling of vegetable and flower seeds. Company's products are sold in Kharkov oblast as well as other Ukrainian oblasts such as Sumy, Zaporizhia, Dnepropetrovsk, Lugansk, Donetsk, Poltava and others.
In 1999 the company sold 23 tons of seeds and they plan to see 30 tons in 2000.
