The Ukrainian - British College

Seeking an affiliate school

Since 1996, the Ukrainian-British College (UBC) has run highly successful English language courses both for adults and children. It is an ELT methodology centre for secondary and tertiary teachers of English. The UBC also offers translator and interpreter service.

Our program is specially designed to improve the students’ four language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing – in enjoyable classes and small groups (maximum 12 students) at all levels from beginners to advanced. We use a wide range of up-to-date authentic British materials including specially produced videos, audio and visual aids, course-books, cassettes, songs, newspapers and magazines, materials from radio and television, etc.

We offer General English and Business English courses, English for Executives and Professionals (lawyers, doctors, etc.).

Special courses will prepare you systematically for internationally recognized English language examinations: University of Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency examinations, IELTS and TOEFL.

Are you planning to study at a British university or college? Our university placement service will help you apply to the university you need in the United Kingdom or other English-speaking countries. Do you want to improve your English in Britain? We are glad to help you join a course at one of our partner schools – Hilderstone College, Kent School of English or AngloWorld – recognized by the British Council.

Our teachers are a team of dedicated, highly qualified and experienced professionals who have attended courses on English language teaching methodology in Great Britain as well as those organized by the British Council in Ukraine and have specially been trained to teach foreign students of English.

The UBC has about 50 students aged between 11 and 54. Most of our students are aged 13 – 17. They come from nice families with a solid academic background, but now most of the parents are involved in various businesses. They can provide their American visitors with excellent full board family accommodation.

We can offer a flexible program of school visits, sightseeing, trips to places of interest (Poltava, Kiev, etc.), theatre, concert and museum visits, meetings with our students, parties, discussions and sports activities.

We are also considering the possibility of opening an American high school in Kharkiv as there is a significant demand because many people are sending their children to study at US and Canadian colleges and universities.

We are looking for interested parties in the USA including business and teaching community. Such a school could work as an affiliation of an American school or college or as a cultural and educational foundation.

Tell me and I forget,

Teach me and I’ll remember,

Involve me and I learn.
