This plant has been in business for 20 years and is 100% owned by the employees. It currently employs 316.  The output of the plant in 1994 was 73,000 tons of cheese. By 1997 this had declined 65% to 26,000 tons.  The production capacity is 4.6 tons per shift. The enterprise has had the status of an open joint-stock company since 1995.

The company has recently signed an agreement with a Belgian company to provide them with powdered cheese.  As a result, new equipment has been added and the company is in a position to provide cheese at very competitive prices.

The company is currently looking new technologies, raw materials and investments ($500,000 investment, $1,050,000 loan).

They also want to develop technologies and equipment for collecting and cooling up to 30,000 tons of milk a year from farmers.

The additional non-dairy raw products are planned:

  • Fruit and berry concentrates - up to 2 tons annually
  • Dry milk - up to 400 tons annually
  • Soy protein - up to 300 tons annually

The company produces the following products:

  • AROSSIYSKIY hard cheese - 9.2 tons/shift
  • Whole milk products - 15 tons/shift
  • butter - 4.5 tons/shift;
  • processed cheese (sausage-like) - 0.3 tons/ shift;
  • acid casein - 0.4 tons/shift;
  • milk sugar - 0.3 tons/shift

The company has many plans for the future which include modernization of the existing technologies, implementation of new packaging technologies, and development of additional products (yogurt, different mixes, beverages, preserves, baby food); small packaging of the products manufactured, development of cheese formulas using preservatives, possible implementation of technologies for products with additional vegetable oil content, development of products including non-dairy raw materials, soy or barley malt, vegetable oils, flavorings, preservatives.
