System of Distribution of Energy and Material Resources in a Blast Furnace Facility Yu.B. Murav'ev, A.V. Borodulin <kozodaev@online.ru>. Problem statement. To develop a comprehensive model of energy and material transitions in the blast furnace process. This will allow to predict trends in the process evolution and to optimize the distribution of power and raw materials, the values of process and the quantity of equipment units to ensure the best possible performance of the blast furnace and the entire facility. Underlying idea. Modular approach to modeling of the power-generating and material-processing system at an integrated steel plant is taken. The blast furnace facility is regarded as dominating in the overall system. The modules include Blast Furnace, Blast, Energy Recycling, and Overall Energy Balance. Conclusions. In addition to its application to the blast furnace practice, the model is to be included in a system of optimizing the overall energy balance of an integrated steel plant. This system will help elaborate energy and material conservation policies in regions of iron ore mining and making iron and steel.
