By William Zadorsky (

Electro-oxidation of hard-to-oxidize contaminants and decomposition of organic to non-hazardous compounds simultaneously take place in a compact electrolyzer. Vortex motion is induced at the electrode surfaces for improved performance.
Deep purification of liquids from admixtures including sub-micron particles uses selective combinations of micro-filtration, sorption, capillary effects, and Rayleigh distillation. It is carried out in compact high-performance units of modular type. The method is also well-suited for solution concentration, electroplating effluent treatment, demineralization of water at mobile units etc.
DEGREE OF COMMERCIALIZATION. Waste water treatment was carried out on an industrial scale. Liquid purification was only tested at industrial microelectronics plants.
TECHNICAL DATA AND COST PERFORMANCE. The environmental and cost performance was highly satisfactory.
MARKET PENETRATION. Expertise and unit designs are offered for renovation and new construction projects.
KEY WORDS. Water treatment, waste water, mobile units, liquid purification, microelectronics, electrochemical processes, electro-oxidation, chemical processes, precipitation, co-precipitation., decomposition, chemical contaminants, biological contaminants, radionuclides, heavy metals.
